WSU Pullman students can participate in counseling for couples or marriage / marital counseling. WSU Pullman campus students who have paid the current Student Health Fee are eligible for counseling and their partners can attend couples counseling with them. Couples counseling is available in person on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM and is dependent on available counselors.
Both partners must come to WSU Counseling Services in the Lighty Student Services building room 280 when the university is open during walk-in hours to meet with counselors individually prior to starting couples counseling. Prior to meeting with a counselor, each partner will complete the initial intake questionnaires and consent for counseling and couples counseling.
Couples will meet with a couples counselor for three screening interviews: The first meeting will be with both partners and then each of you will meet individually with the counselor. This will allow the counselor to gather information to decide what kind of services to provide.
After your screening interviews, the counselor will contact the couple and let them know if they will be scheduled for couples counseling or referred for another type of service.
