Interns will be expected to develop consultation and outreach skills with individuals and groups in both formal and informal contexts. Interns provide consultations to university faculty, residence hall staff, Health and Wellness providers, academic departments, and campus police on issues relating to service coordination and student welfare. Interns are also encouraged to develop areas of interest that lend themselves to being implemented programmatically. Thus, some consultations involve a brief phone call, while others may entail a series of meetings, planning and research sessions, and interventions of various sorts.
Interns will provide outreach activities, including workshops, during the year. Specific experiences reflect a combination of the interns’ training needs and interests as well as the needs of the university community. Some of these may meet in the evening (or weekend), outside of open office hours.
